IRCC updates study permit renewal guidelines for Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has updated its operational instructions for study permit renewals under the Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot (FMCSP). To qualify for renewal, applicants must hold a valid study permit issued under the pilot and provide a valid letter of acceptance (LOA) or letter of enrolment confirming continued full-time study in an eligible post-secondary program of at least two years at a participating institution, leading to a degree or diploma and with more than 50% of classes taught in French. Applicants must also demonstrate sufficient funds for first-year tuition and travel costs, plus 75% of the applicable regional Low-Income Cut-Off (LICO).
