Northwest Manitoba launches regional immigration initiative to address labour needs

Five municipalities in Northwest Manitoba have partnered under provincial guidance to launch the Northwest Manitoba Immigration Initiative. The joint program aims to attract and retain skilled workers to meet immediate and long-term labour shortages across the region. Local communities will accept applications across key sectors, including healthcare, sales, education, construction, and transportation. Successful candidates receive a community letter of endorsement to support their application for provincial nomination through Manitoba. The first application intake is currently open and will close on July 31, 2026, at 3:00 PM CST, with additional intakes scheduled for a later date.
