Ottawa invited over 4,300 candidates under the IEC over the past month

Over the past month, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws under the International Experience Canada (IEC). From July 11 to August 14, Canada invited 4,307 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of August 14, 42,697 candidates have registered in the pool and are awaiting the invitation. In these rounds, there were 1 ITA for Andorra, 204 ITAs for Australia, 4 ITAs for Austria, 29 ITAs for Belgium, 37 ITAs for Chile, 2 ITAs for Costa Rica, 20 ITAs for Croatia, 61 ITAs for the Czech Republic, 27 ITAs for Denmark, 18 ITAs for Estonia, 4 ITAs for Finland, 658 ITAs for France, 484 ITAs for Germany, 25 ITAs for Greece, 24 ITAs for Hong Kong, 4 ITAs for Iceland, 99 ITAs for Ireland, 397 ITAs for Italy, 74 ITAs for Japan, 1,093 ITAs for Korea, 46 ITAs for Lithuania, 8 ITAs for Luxembourg, 3 ITAs for the Netherlands, 253 ITAs for New Zealand, 18 ITAs for Norway, 51 ITAs for Poland, 123 ITAs for Portugal, 47 ITAs for Slovakia, 2 ITAs for Slovenia, 81 ITAs for Spain, 25 ITAs for Sweden, 18 ITAs for Switzerland, 58 ITAs for Taiwan, and 309 ITAs for the United Kingdom. In total, Canada invited 87,320 IEC candidates in 2026.
