Ottawa invited nearly 4,500 candidates under the new IEC draws

Over the last two weeks, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws under the International Experience Canada (IEC). From April 11 to April 24, Canada invited 4,447 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of April 24, 28,471 candidates have registered in the pool and are awaiting the invitation. In these rounds, there were 530 ITAs for Australia, 8 ITAs for Austria, 60 ITAs for Belgium, 60 ITAs for Chile, 14 ITAs for Costa Rica, 8 ITAs for Croatia, 53 ITAs for the Czech Republic, 21 ITAs for Denmark, 3 ITAs for Estonia, 18 ITAs for Finland, 718 ITAs for France, 276 ITAs for Germany, 15 ITAs for Greece, 12 ITAs for Hong Kong, 2 ITAs for Iceland, 244 ITAs for Ireland, 175 ITAs for Italy, 355 ITAs for Japan, 574 ITAs for Korea, 5 ITAs for Latvia, 12 ITAs for Lithuania, 6 ITAs for Luxembourg, 3 ITAs for the Netherlands, 126 ITAs for New Zealand, 22 ITAs for Norway, 49 ITAs for Poland, 35 ITAs for Portugal, 25 ITAs for Slovakia, 17 ITAs for Slovenia, 59 ITAs for Spain, 22 ITAs for Sweden, 15 ITAs for Switzerland, 70 ITAs for Taiwan, and 835 ITAs for the United Kingdom. In total, Canada invited 67,169 IEC candidates in 2026.
