Ottawa held new IEC draws, inviting over 3,000 candidates

Over the last two weeks, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws under the International Experience Canada (IEC). From March 14 to March 27, Canada invited 3,167 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of March 27, 31,077 candidates have registered in the pool and are awaiting the invitation. In these rounds, there were 233 ITAs for Australia, 6 ITAs for Austria, 38 ITAs for Belgium, 4 ITAs for Chile, 4 ITAs for Costa Rica, 10 ITAs for Croatia, 44 ITAs for the Czech Republic, 29 ITAs for Denmark, 9 ITAs for Estonia, 15 ITAs for Finland, 462 ITAs for France, 172 ITAs for Germany, 20 ITAs for Greece, 17 ITAs for Hong Kong, 1 ITA for Iceland, 185 ITAs for Ireland, 111 ITAs for Italy, 869 ITAs for Japan, 248 ITAs for Korea, 2 ITAs for Latvia, 14 ITAs for Lithuania, 3 ITAs for Luxembourg, 20 ITAs for the Netherlands, 80 ITAs for New Zealand, 9 ITAs for Norway, 28 ITAs for Poland, 38 ITAs for Portugal, 1 ITA for San Marino, 24 ITAs for Slovakia, 7 ITAs for Slovenia, 22 ITAs for Spain, 32 ITAs for Sweden, 26 ITAs for Switzerland, 17 ITAs for Taiwan, and 367 ITAs for the United Kingdom. In total, Canada invited 53,309 IEC candidates in 2026.
