Ottawa held new IEC draws, inviting over 1,500 candidates in the second half of August

Over the last two weeks, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws under the International Experience Canada (IEC). From August 15 to August 30, Canada invited 1,535 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of August 27, 45,338 candidates have registered in the pool and are awaiting the invitation. In these rounds, there were 3 ITAs for Andorra, 80 ITAs for Australia, 10 ITAs for Belgium, 12 ITAs for Chile, 14 ITAs for Croatia, 45 ITAs for the Czech Republic, 5 ITAs for Denmark, 6 ITAs for Estonia, 2 ITAs for Finland, 261 ITAs for France, 80 ITAs for Germany, 6 ITAs for Greece, 20 ITAs for Hong Kong, 5 ITAs for Iceland, 38 ITAs for Ireland, 87 ITAs for Italy, 30 ITAs for Japan, 485 ITAs for Korea, 28 ITAs for Lithuania, 7 ITAs for Luxembourg, 1 ITA for the Netherlands, 60 ITAs for New Zealand, 16 ITAs for Norway, 19 ITAs for Poland, 27 ITAs for Portugal, 24 ITAs for Slovakia, 1 ITA for Slovenia, 37 ITAs for Spain, 7 ITAs for Sweden, 6 ITAs for Switzerland, 23 ITAs for Taiwan, and 90 ITAs for the United Kingdom. In total, Canada invited 88,855 IEC candidates in 2026.
