Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced a significant modification to the work permit application process for International Experience Canada (IEC) participants currently in Canada. From April 16 to December 1, 2025, eligible participants with valid IEC work permits and new letters of introduction can now request necessary documentation through the IRCC web form. This policy adjustment comes in response to the Canada Border Services Agency's flagpoling restrictions implemented in December 2024, which prevent participants from activating work permits through border crossings with the US or Saint Pierre and Miquelon.
