Canadian passport maintains edge over US in global ranking: Henley Index July 2025

The Canadian passport continues to outrank its US counterpart in the latest Henley Passport Index released on July 22, 2025. Ranking eighth globally alongside the UAE and Estonia, Canadian passport holders enjoy visa-free access to 184 countries. Despite slipping one position since January, Canada maintained its advantage over the US, which fell to 10th place, marking the first time in the index's 20-year history that the US passport risks dropping out of the top 10. Singapore leads the rankings, with Japan and South Korea tied for second place.
