Recent Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) data reveal diverse immigration patterns in the first half of 2025, with India leading at 9,770 claims, followed by Mexico (7,410) and Haiti (6,320). The geographic distribution shows Ontario bearing the heaviest burden with 5,075 claims, while British Columbia (2,050), Quebec (1,745), Alberta (670), and Manitoba (125) experience varying pressures. Municipal reports indicate persistent shelter shortages and insufficient long-term family placements across provinces. Smaller regions, in particular, struggle with rapid influxes, citing inadequate infrastructure and funding to scale essential services, including healthcare, education, and housing systems, to meet growing demands.
