Canada’s refugee claims in 2025: India leads in the first half of the year

Municipal reports indicate persistent shelter shortages and insufficient long-term family placements across provinces. Smaller regions, in particular, struggle with rapid influxes, citing inadequate infrastructure and funding to scale essential services, including healthcare, education, and housing systems, to meet growing demands.
