Ontario's OINP has completed its program redesign: as of the June 26, 2026 amendment to O. Reg. 422/17, the former eight-stream Expression of Interest system is closed to new entries, replaced by the new Ontario Workforce Priority stream, which covers job offers across all NOC TEER categories plus a pathway for self-employed physicians. Alberta's AAIP updated its Rural Entrepreneur, Graduate Entrepreneur, and Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream pages on August 12, 2026 with clarified guidance on the existing economic establishment requirement and what business proposal documentation is expected. Separately, IRCC increased Alberta's 2026 nomination allocation by 200, bringing the AAIP total to 6,603 for the year. (Source: Alberta)

Saskatchewan's SINP has confirmed its 2026 initial allocation of 4,761 nominations, with at least 50% (2,381) reserved for priority sectors (healthcare, agriculture, skilled trades, mining, manufacturing, energy, technology) and capped shares for accommodation/food services, trucking, and retail trade. Unlike 2025, there is no federal requirement this year mandating a minimum share of nominees from temporary residents already in Canada. (Source: Saskatchewan)

In Quebec, PSTQ processing statistics were refreshed August 3–6, 2026, and MIFI continues to prioritize PSTQ applications where the applicant's work permit has expired or expires by August 13, 2026, as well as open work permit holders who are not eligible for the federal temporary public interest policy (closed work permit renewals only). The Programme de l'expérience québécoise (PEQ) reopened July 2, 2026 for a two-year window, with its first intake period running July 2 to October 31, 2026. (Source: Québec)
