Ottawa invited over 8,000 IEC candidates in May

Over the past month, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws in the International Experience Canada (IEC) pools. From May 3 to May 30, Canada invited 8,060 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of May 30, 27,994 candidates were registered in the pool and waiting for the invitation. Canada issued 897 ITAs for Australia, 40 ITAs for Austria, 107 ITAs for Belgium, 4 ITAs for Chile, 10 ITAs for Costa Rica, 18 ITAs for Croatia, 97 ITAs for the Czech Republic, 37 ITAs for Denmark, 9 ITAs for Estonia, 22 ITAs for Finland, 799 ITAs for France, 426 ITAs for Germany, 23 ITAs for Greece, 20 ITAs for Hong Kong, 6 ITAs for Iceland, 301 ITAs for Ireland, 245 ITAs for Italy, 1,663 ITAs for Japan, 1,035 ITAs for Korea, 6 ITAs for Latvia, 17 ITAs for Lithuania, 7 ITAs for Luxembourg, 190 ITAs for New Zealand, 20 ITAs for Norway, 55 ITAs for Poland, 82 ITAs for Portugal, 34 ITAs for Slovakia, 6 ITAs for Slovenia, 194 ITAs for Spain, 39 ITAs for Sweden, 19 ITAs for Switzerland, 176 ITAs for Taiwan, and 1,456 ITAs for the United Kingdom. In 2025, Canada issued 73,327 ITAs under the Immigration and Employment in Canada (IEC) Program.
