Manitoba's government has successfully brought 13 American-trained doctors into the province's healthcare system as part of an ongoing effort to expand medical services for residents. Premier Wab Kinew and Health Minister Uzoma Asagwara confirmed the recruitment milestone in January 2026, which follows last year's record addition of 285 physicians. The new arrivals are working alongside Manitoba's online booking platform to improve patient access, with nearly 50,000 appointments facilitated in 2025. According to national health data, Manitoba now leads Canada in same-day and next-day availability of healthcare providers, reflecting the province's commitment to reducing wait times and strengthening community-based medical care across all regions.
