Canadian employment rises in July as unemployment falls to 6.4%

Canadian employment increased by 75,000 jobs in July 2026, raising the national employment rate to 60.9%. Average hourly wages rose 2.8% year-over-year to $37.17, pointing to continued strength across key Canadian economic sectors.
