Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has implemented substantial modifications to the International Student Program, effective November 15, 2024. These revised regulations enhance the program's long-term viability and safeguard students from potential exploitation. Notable changes encompass off-campus work hours to 24 per week during academic terms and require students to secure approval for a new study permit before transferring institutions. Furthermore, designated learning institutions are now subject to more stringent compliance reporting obligations, with the possibility of suspension for non-adherence.
