Five Canadian provinces set to increase minimum wage rates this October

Starting October 1, 2025, workers in five Canadian provinces will benefit from minimum wage increases designed to combat inflation and address rising living costs. Ontario leads with a 40-cent bump to $17.60, potentially adding $835 annually for full-time workers. Nova Scotia implements the largest percentage increase at 80 cents, reaching $16.50, while PEI advances toward its $16.50 target with a 50-cent increase. Saskatchewan and Manitoba round out the adjustments with modest increases to $15.35 and $16, respectively, all part of provincial efforts to enhance worker compensation while balancing economic concerns.
