Canada's international education sector grapples with new immigration policies

A recent survey reveals widespread disapproval among Canadian colleges and universities regarding new immigration policies affecting international students. Nearly 90% of institutions report negative impacts, citing operational revenue losses and recruitment challenges. The survey, conducted in September 2024, highlights a significant disconnect between the government and education stakeholders, with 81% rating government engagement as poor. In response, IDP has launched a campaign titled "There's a future in Canada for you" to showcase positive student experiences and maintain Canada's appeal as an education destination.
