The AAIP made changes to immigration pathways

On April 3, 2023, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program announced changes to allow more in-demand workers and entrepreneurs to become permanent residents and immigrate to the province. According to the announcement, the AAIP will use up to 30 percent of available Express Entry allocations for the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway, allowing healthcare workers with an Alberta job offer to immigrate to the province. Additionally, Alberta reduced the minimum investment requirements for the AAIP Rural Entrepreneur Stream from $200,000 to $100,000 and removed the Settlement Organization Endorsement Letter requirement for the AAIP Rural Renewal Stream. Most importantly, the AAIP will participate in the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) to help refugees immigrate to the province through existing economic programs. Finally, Alberta provided a new AAIP phone line as an additional option to contact the AAIP.
